an extraordinary European art gallery

we are the artfactory club

a contemporary art gallery from Austria that was established in 2014.

It is dedicated to the promotion of Avant-Garde Art of contemporary European artists, providing original fine art to established and emerging collectors. THE ARTFACTORY CLUB is specialized in the world-famous artists GERHARD RICHTER, FRANZ GERTSCH and HELMUT DITSCH. Their works stand out for the high quality and impressive power they perform on the viewer.

An important characteristic of THE ARTFACTORY CLUB is the realisation of exhibitions at public spaces with free entry to provide art to all interested people, regardless of their social background. Therefore the Gallery organized the GIRA NACIONAL in cooperation with HELMUT DITSCH in 2014, an exhibition tour which the Argentinian artist originally started in 2010 in his homecountry. During the tour paintings of him were shown in several cities in the interior of Argentina with hundreds of thousands visitors.

After a successful first year THE ARTFACTORY CLUB decided to open a second branch in Vaduz, Liechtenstein in 2015.

Artists

GERHARD RICHTER
Gerhard Richter was born in Dresden in 1932. From 1957 he studied painting at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts and took commissions from the German Democratic Republic. In 1961, he fled to West Germany where he continued his studies at the Düsseldorf Arts Academy. From 1971 to 1993 he worked as a professor for painting at this university. Gerhard Richter developed his own painting technique which includes different styles. In the early 1960s Richter began to use photographs as references, which he painted enlarged on canvas. An important character is a special blurring effect. Later he painted colour charts, glass windows and abstract paintings. Since the sale of the painting Domplatz, Mailand at an auction in May 2013 for $ 37.1 million Gerhard Richter has been considered the most expensive living artist in the world.

FRANZ GERTSCH
Franz Gertsch was born in 1930 in Mörigen (Switzerland). He attended the Art School of the Swiss painter Max von Mühlenen from 1947 to 1950. He made his international breakthrough in 1972 at documenta 5 in Kassel. In 1978, 1999 and 2003, he participated in the Venice Biennale. In 2002 the “Museum Franz Gertsch“ was opened in Burgdorf (Switzerland). Franz Gertsch was getting famous for his large-format photo-realistic paintings, partly based on photographs and slide projections. Since the late seventies he has mainly painted hyper-realistic portraits. In the eighties, he dedicated himself exclusively to the production of woodcuts. Today Franz Gertsch is considered the greatest living artist in Switzerland.

HELMUT DITSCH
Helmut Ditsch was born in 1962 in Buenos Aires/Argentina. In 1988 he moved to Austria, the country of his ancestors, to try to prove his talent as a painter at the traditional Academy of Fine Art in Vienna. After a big commission from the National Bank of Austria in 1997 he became in the following years the highlight for the important Austrian collectors. Helmut Ditsch is popular for his large-format nature paintings. By intensively observing nature, it is possible for him to find the right colours for his paintings, to create the exact colour-temperature of the intimate light to be able to reach not only a three-dimensual effect, but also to create an inner world which exceeds reality. The work of Helmut Ditsch is best understood under the category of Experienced Realism. Since the sale of the painting “Das Meer II“ for US$ 865.000 in 2010 he has been considered the most expensive artist in Argentina. 2015 he became a professor at the Argentinian University UNSAM.
